Calculators: how much to save, and payouts that last

How much more to save

Enter the savings you want at retirement. The answer is what to add each year (the same amount, or an amount that rises with your pay), or as one lump sum today. Everything is in today's money, so use growth after inflation. The goal starts at 25 × your planned yearly spending (the 4% rule of thumb); Social Security and pensions would lower it.

A payout that lasts a set number of years

How much a balance can pay you each year until it runs out exactly, either the same dollars every year ("level") or rising with inflation. Payments at the end of each year.
